Doctors Medical Center is the only comprehensive stroke center in the region, from Sacramento to Bakersfield. Our rapid response team can rapidly implement synchronized stroke alert protocols, significantly improving patient outcomes.

Our dedicated Neuro Critical Care Unit treats more than just strokes. Our Neuro Critical Care Nurses are certified in Trauma Nursing Care, Pediatrics Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale.

When surgery is unavoidable, the Darroch Brain and Spine Institute uses state-of-the-art facilities at Doctors Medical Center, the region’s first Level II Trauma Center and a Blue Shield of California Distinction Center for spine surgery.
